HARRISON HOUSE OPEN FOR TOURS

The Branford Historical Society invites the public to visit the Harrison House which was built circa 1724. The house is furnished with period pieces in three of the five rooms, with special displays in the other two. In one of the remaining rooms, items from Branford's history are displayed and the other room contains a special exhibition of colored cut glass in the style of glass from the Bohemia section of Czechoslovakia on loan from a private collection. There is also a period garden and a barn with antique farming equipment.

The house is open every Saturday from 2-5 pm until the end of September and is located at 124 Main Street, Branford. For additional information, call Anton Wohlert at (203) 481-4665.

Special Cut Glass Exhibit at Harrison House

The house is furnished with period pieces in three of the five rooms with special displays in the other two. In one of the remaining rooms items from Branford's history are displayed and the other room contains a special exhibition of colored cut glass in the style of glass from the bohemia section of Czechoslovakia on loan from a private collection. There is also a colonial and herb garden and a barn with antique farming equipment.

Guides Needed for Harrison House

The Branford Historical Society needs guides for the Harrison House for one 3-hour period each month from June through September. If we don't get more guides, the House will not be open every week. Training and a guide manual will be provided. The trainees can work with veteran guides until they feel ready to guide alone. The house is open for visitors Saturdays from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Anyone interested,please call Anton Wohlert at 481-4665.
